Operator deep page (statute cites, PC vs MSO table, Foundry formation CTA): Louisiana CPOM on the CPOM 50-state guide. Pair it with CPOM compliance and MSO-PC formation ($15,000). A friendly PC owner is $3,000/mo.
Louisiana is Nuanced, not a no-rules state. Official La. R.S. 12:901(A) defines a professional medical corporation as a corporation organized pursuant to Title 12 Chapter 9 for the practice of medicine or podiatry. Official R.S. 12:909 lets voting shareholders set a shareholders’ agreement. LSBME still licenses and disciplines physicians under compiled LAC 46:XLV.
Pain-management clinics have a separate ownership statute
Official R.S. 40:2198.12(A) says, except as provided in Subsection D, all pain management clinics shall be owned and operated by a physician certified in the subspecialty of pain management by a member board of the American Boards of Medical Specialties, and shall be licensed by the department. That is a clinic-license ownership rule, not a telehealth or GLP-1 waiver. New Orleans diligence still wants a physician-owned PC plus an FMV MSA for venture-backed files.
What New Orleans founders should do
- Form a Louisiana professional medical corporation owned by a Louisiana-licensed MD or DO.
- If the clinic is a pain-management clinic, read R.S. 40:2198.12 before you form.
- Pay the MSO a fixed or FMV-supported admin fee, not a percentage of collections.
- If you also treat Texas or Florida patients, open those deep pages. Louisiana’s Nuanced label does not control them.
